Caveats
  • The usual limits on alliances do not apply. The alliance forms even when the trigger's house is defeated, the given house is an observer, or the alliance leaves the trigger's house no enemy to fight.
  • No message or announcement follows.
  • Fighting already under way is not broken off. Objects of the trigger's house that are attacking the given house keep that target. A computer house's objects drop it on their next update, except its aircraft and engineers. A human player's objects keep attacking until given new orders.
  • Objects of the trigger's house do not reveal their surroundings when the alliance forms. With ally reveal on and the given house the local player's, the player sees nothing new until those objects next reveal their surroundings.
  • An alliance formed by a human player's house does not turn the computer houses against the human players, whatever [Paranoid](/keys/paranoid/) is set to.
  • The given house still treats the trigger's house as an enemy, and its units still attack it. For a mutual alliance, give the other house a trigger with this action, or use Make ally, which allies both sides but applies the usual limits.
  • The action does nothing when the given house is the trigger's house, a country nobody plays, or a spawn house nobody holds.
